Training

First, let's compare AMETEK factory training with on-site training at your location. We believe factory training offers significant advantages and is well worth the investment. When students are given the opportunity to travel to a factory training program, they enjoy:

  • Increased self-confidence
  • A sense of increased importance of their jobs
  • An environment away from everyday routines and disruptions, leading to...
  • A higher level of concentration and effort

This maximizes the return on your training dollar investment.

The instruments used in our training programs are identical to the ones your company already owns and will be available for "hands on" use. This is the best way to become familiar with all aspects of operation and maintenance of the equipment.

The courses are designed to fit the needs of you, our customer. We stress that you are never pressured to memorize all of the material. Our objective is to have you thoroughly understand the theory, be aware of where to find the information you need within our documentation, and be thoroughly familiar with the equipment and able to communicate effectively with an AMETEK SERVICE representative when calling for assistance.

As we present each segment of the course, the material is explained, with a sample of the associated component made available for inspection. Next, the material is reinforced using visual aids such as flip charts; students are encouraged to copy the information into their notebooks. Then, the material is reviewed and discussed again until the instructor is satisfied with the level of understanding among the students. Understanding of each segment is important to understanding of subsequent segments.

We believe it is very important for all students to take accurate notes and interpret the material in their own words. Students are then expected to perform every operation, procedure, calibration etc., using only their notes. If these tasks cannot be accomplished, our instructors will work with students to modify their notes until success is achieved.

From time to time during the course, students will be challenged to demonstrate, in a practical way, what they have learned. Then, a quiz will be offered at the end of the course. To emphasize the fact that we do not expect rote memorization, all quizzes will be open-book.

Using these techniques, we are confident that the diploma we will award you at the completion of the course represents real value and achievement.
